Inchcape Shipping Services Milazzo was established in January, 2007 and provides full agency services in the Port of Milazzo.
Milazzo Port is situated on the South Tirrenian Sea (Mediterranean Sea) and has an oil terminal (RAM) and three pleasure vessel marinas.
The port is located in front of Eolian Island and attracts tourists in large numbers. Pleasure vessels can however take advantage of a comprehensive range of services in Milazzo including; fresh water, bunkers, mooring services and a safe haven from Eolian Island.
Milazzo Refinery Oil Terminal
Milazzo Refinery Oil Terminal is located to the east of the historical harbour (Lat 38° 15 N – Long 15° 18 E) and is a joint venture between ENI and Q8. The terminal comprises of 2 piers: “pontile di ponente” pier n.01 and “pontile di levante” pier n.02 and production is essentially based on refined products, such as jet and LPG and semi-finished goods, including LVN and fuel oil.
The weather is open to winds and seas from NNW, with the majority of bad weather coming from a North-westerly direction. During heavy and bad weather, it is recommended that vessels leave anchorage and steam at open sea.
Pilotage is compulsory for all ships, except for fishing vessels less then 24 metres, military vessels and foil masters. Vessel less than 20.000gt may require pilotage for anchorage and disanchorage.
Milazzo Pilots should be contacted by VHF on channel 12 prior to arrival, for instructions concerning the boarding position and berthing. The pilot will usually board one mile NNW of capo Milazzo.
