Vitoria is the capital and major port of the State of Espírito Santo in eastern Brazil, located 418 kilometres northeast of Rio de Janeiro.
ISS Vitoria was established in December 2010 in the heart of the city’s international trade and offshore activities, with a solid background in bulk cargo and offshore movements.
The city is an important centre for imports in the country and also exports agricultural and industrial products. Due to recent investments and exportation of commodities in oil and gas, mainly iron ore, Vitoria is also home to a productive iron processing and steel making industry.
The Port of Vitoria is one of Brazil’s most important ports and its modern infrastructure is operated by both public and private partnerships that include over 60 maritime agencies, 40 port operators and 10 cargo terminals, serving over 2000 ships every year. It is connected by rail and highway to the hinterlands and offers a capable inter-modal transportation system.
The Port of Praia Mole is Vitoria’s main export port and has six different quays. Three of the quays are designated to receive bulk coal, whilst the other three quays belong to the Praia Mole Steel Terminal (TPS), where steel products are exported by ArcelorMittal, Gerdau and Usiminas.
