ISS Angra dos Reis opened in April 2010, after Inchcape Shipping Services was awarded the Petrobas contract.
The office is located 300km south of Rio de Janeiro, with the continental part of the city dating back to the 17th century. It is here that the Petrobas terminal is located.
The oil and gas industry is an important economic factor for the city, serving both the pre-salt layer and basin. The city has two nuclear power plants, the navy's marine academy, shipyards and a commercial port. Pirata's Mall accommodates a passenger maritime station which is used all year round by local schooners and the big Island has several beaches and sheltered bays, that are used by cruise ships to tender their guests.
ISS Angra dos Reis is ran by a professional multi-functional team, capable to attend not only tanker ships, but all kinds of operations within the area.
