Inchcape Shipping Services has been present in Antofagasta for 15 years through sub agency representation. However, in 2011 we set up our own office covering the dry bulk dedicated ports of; Arica, Iquique, Caleta Patillos, Patache Tocopilla, Mejillones, Caleta Coloso, Antofagasta, Chañaral, Caldera and Huasco.

Antofagasta is a port city in northern Chile, located approximately 700 miles (1,130 km) north of Santiago at 23° 39' 1" S, and 70° 24' 21" W. It is one of the most influential ports in the region and has great movement in the dry bulk sector, particularly in mining and energy activities.

Antofagasta's economic development is mainly based on copper mining and non-metallic minerals, including nitrate and iodine, which is a major mining area. The Escondida is the biggest private mine in Chile and has a private port located in Caleta Coloso.

The Port of Antofagasta is both a tourist and commercial port, as a member of the Association of Cruise Ports Southern Cone and the ability to operate the production of 5,000,000 tons of cargo.

The port has a complex of seven docks, under the name of Puerto de Antofagasta, which consists of two terminals:

Terminal 1 – Three docks which are multi-operator and are managed by the Empresa Portuaria Antofagasta (EPA)

Terminal 2 – Four docks which are managed and operated by Antofagasta Terminal Internacional (ATI).

ISS Antofagasta comprises an experienced and motivated team with expertise across all sectors of the maritime industry. Our professional management team has over 15 years industry experience and our boarding representatives are well-trained, enthusiastic, customer oriented and results driven. Together, our team combine a lifetime of shore-based maritime and logistic experience to deliver a range of unrivalled products.
