Houston is the largest city in the state of Texas and the fourth-largest in the United States.

The city is at the heart of the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area, the largest cultural and economic center of the Gulf Coast region and the seventh-largest metropolitan area in the U.S. with a population of 5.3 million in 10 counties.

Houston is world-renowned for its energy and aeronautics industries, and for its ship channel.

The Port of Houston is the sixth-largest port in the world.  Among other U.S. ports, it is the largest land-locked port, the busiest in foreign tonnage and second in overall tonnage.  All together, there are over 150 private industries, plus the Port of Houston Authority, located within a 25-mile long waterway complex of diverse public and private facilities.  The Houston Ship Channel has been called the world's most difficult pilotage, due to it's physical limitations, it's distance from the Gulf of Mexico, and the sheer volume of traffic transitting it's waters daily.

The area is also the world's leading center for building oilfield equipment. Houston is ranked as one of 11 U.S. world-class cities by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group & Network.

More than 225 million tons of cargo moved through the Port in 2007, carried by over 8,050 vessels.

The ISS Houston office is strategically located near the ship channel and has ready access to all of the oil terminals, chemical berths, break-bulk and container terminals within the port.

While handling a high volume of tanker traffic within the Port of Houston transporting crude oil, various petroleum products, petrochemicals, organic chemicals, and LPG, the office also frequently handles container vessels, break-bulk ships with heavy-lifts, steel & other commodities, RO/RO, and bulk carriers loading cargoes such as petcoke and grain.

Our management staff have over 80 years combined shipping experience, first-hand knowledge of every terminal in the port, and oversee a vibrant & experienced boarding staff, providing round-the-clock attendance with an excellent reputation in the port for taking that "extra" step in extending superior, quality service to our clients.
