The Port of Jacksonville is an international seaport for trade, naval activity, and commercial fishing and boating within the St. Johns River.

 

Port Jacksonville, located at Latitude: 30° 23.8' N USGS Quad: MAYPORT Longitude: 81° 25.8' W and situated along the St. Johns River, is a thriving seaport and is continuoudly growing to meet the needs of the local area and throughout the Southeast United States. 

 

The port and port authority workforces' combined, comprises almost 50,000 people working within the maritime industry in Jacksonville alone. There are public terminals for cruise ships as well as cargo facilities for containers, automobiles, bulk, break bulk, and refrigerated cargos. There is an equal amount of navy / military personnel on the 3 bases located within Jacksonville limits.

 

The Port is spread along the St. Johns River, and there are also private terminals for oil products, coal, petcoke, aggregates, gypsum and cement. As a whole, the port is host to more that 2,500 cargo ship calls per year.

 

Jacksonville Port is also excellently positioned for rail, trucking and air shipments, as the intermodal connections from Jacksonville includes the CSX Railroad and two major interstate highways (I-95 and I-10) to allow for goods to unload at Jacksonville and be in seven different states by the next day.

 

The Port of Jacksonville is truly a dynamic player for shipping and international commerce.
