ISS-McKay's Hawke's Bay office is based in the Art Deco capital of New Zealand - Napier. The office is located approximately 2kms from the Port of Napier.
Following a massive earthquake (7.9 on the Richter scale) on the morning of Tuesday 3 February 1931, fires destroyed most of the commercial heart of Napier. The city was rebuilt in the Art Deco style of that era and by the end of the 1930's Napier was the newest city on the globe.
Situated in the heart of the highly productive Hawke’s Bay region, the Port of Napier is conveniently located on the East Coast, close to the main New Zealand shipping lane, handling cargo moving to and from the lower North Island area. The Port offers a full range of worldwide shipping services including a number of weekly container services, complemented by excellent domestic transport systems.
The Port of Napier has the essential facilities required to handle all forms of shipping and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Container Terminal handles cargo of all types with an emphasis on refrigerated products. Facilities are also available to handle non-containerised cargo including logs, woodchips, cement, oil products, bulk liquids, fertiliser, forestry products, vehicles and foodstuffs. Port Pack is the central point for warehousing cargo, packing and presenting direct to ships’ side with paved and covered areas to accommodate all-weather packing.
Napier has three mobile container cranes and a wide variety of cargo handling equipment to meet the special needs of different cargoes and products. Particular emphasis being on handling refrigerated cargo in both container and break bulk form.
The ISS-McKay team are located in Napier and are committed to excellence and delivering comprehensive services covering all aspects of vessel calls.
